Guddi Maruti reveals details leading up to Divya Bharti’s death

Guddi Maruti recently shared chilling insights about her late friend, actor Divya Bharti, who tragically fell to her death at just 19 in 1993.

In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Guddi revealed that Bharti had leaned out of her fifth-floor window to look for Sajid Nadiadwala’s car, and that’s when she lost her balance and fell. She also mentioned that designer Neeta Lulla was present and witnessed the tragic fall.

Guddi recalled the overwhelming grief that struck Divya’s family, especially her mother, who was devastated by the loss. She added that Sajid Nadiadwala, Divya’s husband, was in a very distressed state following the incident, as he wasn’t home when it happened.

Elaborating on that night, Guddi dispelled speculation surrounding Divya’s death, stating that Neeta Lulla was with Divya at the time. Neeta had been talking to Divya when she turned to look for Sajid’s car and accidentally fell.

Guddi also recalled receiving the heartbreaking news of Divya’s death on 6th April while she was on a flight. Later, during a visit to Divya’s family home, Guddi encountered an eerie moment when a stray cat entered the house with blood in its mouth, leaving everyone stunned.

Reflecting on Divya’s carefree personality, Guddi shared an unsettling memory of seeing her friend sitting casually on the fifth-floor parapet of her Juhu building, with her legs dangling over the edge. Guddi urged her to come inside, warning her about the danger, but Divya had shrugged it off, saying, “Kuch nahi hota” (Nothing will happen). Though Divya wasn’t afraid of heights, Guddi admitted the sight made her nervous.
