BizAsia Birthday Love: Five professions played by Ranbir Kapoor

As the years pass this actor manages to wow the audience with his performances and choice of roles. Last year the film ‘Animal’ (2023) had everyone sit up and pay attention. While there were some people who couldn’t believe what was being shown on screen, there were others that were blown away with the power of this film and its characters. Especially the main character Ranvijay Singh who will stop at nothing to protect his family especially his father. This character was of course played by none other than Ranbir Kapoor.

The 28th September marks the birthday of Ranbir Kapoor and on this occasion BizAsiaLive.com will look back at five of his roles where he worked in various different professions.

Intern/ Photographer in ‘Wake Up Sid’ (2009)Siddharth Mehra aka Sid (Kapoor) has led a life many would wish for. He’s the apple of his mother’s eye and his father has great hopes for him. His lifestyle consists of partying with his friends, having a good time and not really thinking of the future. When he fails at college everything becomes very serious and it is at that point he learns that whether he likes it or not he will have to grow up. Sid doesn’t want to work for his father’s company but at the same time is confused about what direction to take. His close friend Aisha (Konkona Sen Sharma) knows that Sid loves taking pictures and he is quite skilled at it too.

This gives Aisha (Sharma) the idea of Sid applying for a role at the magazine company she works for. She introduces Sid to a photographer she works with and after seeing Sid’s pictures he is very impressed. With some positive words from Aisha the photographer decides to give Sid a chance to become an intern at the company.

After some time Sid transforms from a lazy, laidback boy into a hardworking and passionate man who loves going to work and enjoys what he does for a living. It isn’t long before he receives his first pay check and is offered the role of an assistant photographer for the magazine.

Singer in ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ (2016)Ayan Sanger (Kapoor) is very proud of his vocals and often compares himself to the likes of the great Mohammed Rafi. However Alizeh (Anushka Sharma) disagrees after hearing him sing and criticises him with all her heart. She tells him that just because he sings in tune doesn’t mean he is a great singer as there was no feeling in his vocals. Ayan (Kapoor) is doing his MBA so that he can take care of his father’s business but music is his one and only passion.

After a few interesting experiences in his life and one major heartbreak he manages to discover a side to himself which he had never experienced before. Thanks to his heart break his songs are alive, there’s a pain within his voice and there is emotion which was lacking before. Also his collaboration with the poet Saba (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan) makes his songs a hit amongst music lovers. He becomes a successful singer like he had always wanted to just not how he thought he would have.

Ranbir Kapoor in ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’

Videographer in ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ (2013)Kabir who is known as Bunty (Kapoor) had always been a free bird who loved exploring life. He couldn’t sit in one place and constantly had to be doing something as he knew life was too short to waste. In poetic terms one could call him a traveller or an explorer but professionally he was a videographer for a travel show. He had travelled the world and seen sights that many would not get to experience in their life times. He didn’t want to have any regrets and wished to see as much as he could in fact he even kept a book with all his goals and lists of places to visit.

With his knowledge and love for travelling he was even getting the chance to became the host of a travel show.

Actor in ‘Sanju’ (2018)There was a lot of talk about this film and many debates as to whether Kapoor would be able to do justice to the role after all it was based on the life of the Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt. Thankfully Kapoor’s hard work paid off and his performance was appreciated a lot. The transformations he went through was spectacular as he tried to imitate the actor at every stage of his life, be it through his style or physically the way he looked. To make sure Kapoor could fully immerse himself into the role he did a lot of research and worked on the way he spoke, he walked and carried himself so that it was similar to the actor.

Ranbir Kapoor in ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’

Break up consultant in ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ (2023) Rohan Arora also known as Mickey (Kapoor) put his heart and soul into his role of a break up consultant. In other words if someone wants to break up with their partner and doesn’t know how to well Micky and his best friend are the people to go to. Micky’s job of a break up consultant was a secret to his family as they have their own family business which meant there was no need for him to do such a job. However Mickey took pride in his work helping people get out of a relationship they’re unhappy in that was until he was in the same situation himself.

These were some of the professions played by the actor in his films. The team at BizAsiaLive.com wishes Ranbir Kapoor a very happy birthday and wishes him all the best for his upcoming projects.
