Abhishek Bachchan recently expressed gratitude to his wife, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, for enabling him to focus on his career by being a devoted and supportive mother to their daughter, Aaradhya.
Addressing The Hindu during promotions for his latest release, Abhishek shared, “I’m fortunate to be able to go out and make films, knowing Aishwarya is at home with Aaradhya. I thank her immensely for that. But children don’t see it in a third-person way—they see you as their parent, whether you’re the father or the mother.”
Reflecting on his own childhood, Abhishek explained that despite his father Amitabh Bachchan’s demanding career in the 1970s, he never felt a lack of parental presence. Abhishek credited his mother, Jaya Bachchan, for stepping away from acting after his birth in 1976 to dedicate more time to the family.
“As a child, I never felt my parents were absent. My mother stopped acting to focus on us, but we never felt the void of dad not being around because, at the end of the day, he always came home after work,” Abhishek explained, highlighting the balance his parents maintained.
The statement comes amidst persistent rumours surrounding the couple’s relationship, reinforcing Abhishek’s appreciation for Aishwarya’s contributions to their family life.
